About Me

My photo
Hello and welcome to a small snapshot of what life's like inside my little corner of the world. I'm Shelly, I have a satisfying career and I'm shackled to my supurb husband. I'm the step-monster to his stylish son and together we have two stunningly beautiful daughters - Sugar and Spice, two stubborn dogs and a squawking bird. These are just some of the stories of my life.

I enjoyed our little "Meet Cute"

Okay, so it wasn't really a "meet cute" since it was planned and all but I thought about it...

I thought about making it a surprise visit, but knowing that she's stuck in the bed I wanted to give her a chance to put some clothes on and brush her teeth. After all, I really hate it when folks drop by my house, unannounced, while I'm lounging around in my Sunday best with Monster breath.

So, I stalked her in a way that she's never been stalked before. I got her number, called her up and scheduled an appointment to "drop by"

Last Sunday was that day... Lola and I struck out and drove to Crazyville together - Oh the ways she has changed my life. Pre-Lola, there is NO WAY that I EVER would have driven somewhere I had never been and didn't know where it was by myself....NO WAY!! But just look at me now!!

And, while I LOVE my Lola, she sometimes tries to send me in directions I don't want to go. For instance, she LOVES to send me to the closest interstate - I HATE interstates. Except this trip was a little different. I knew I had a bit of a distance to go; therefore, I was prepared for her to send me down the interstate. However, this interstate didn't exist when Lola was born and she didn't know about it so she tried to get me OFF of the interstate.

After a brief argument of me driving down a road that, to her, didn't appear to exist, flying past missing the street that I was supposed to turn on, and pulling into the wrong driveway, she and I finally arrived.

As I side note, I felt kinda sorry for the folks whose drive I first pulled into. They were having what appeared to be a yard sale - in the middle of nowhere - and I believe they got their hopes up, thinking I was their first - and probably only - customer. But, I digress...

I knew I had arrived when I saw the worlds second greatest husband - who reminds me of Bo, on Days of Our Lives - outside awaiting my arrival.

I'm just saying....

He led me to the front door where the tone of my visit was immediately set when I looked up on their front door to see this:

I walked into their lovely home and was immediately rewarded with love and kisses. She was SOOOO glad to see me, I began to worry that she may pee have an accident but we managed to avoid having a mishap.

Shortly after my arrival, we went back to her room and crawled in the bed where she continued to love and kiss on me.

I'm normally not such an affectionate person, but I've been looking forward to meeting her and her family for a while now. And with her recent injury and not being able to run around, like she's used to, I knew that she was just excited to have me there - at one point she even sat on my lap!

Thank you, Allie! For letting me come by and visit your family.

I enjoyed meeting Amy In My 'real' Life - We chatted for hours, with no uncomfortable moments of silence; she is just as wonderful in person as she is on her blog. If you were a stranger looking in on us, you would never have known that this was our first time meeting - it feels like we've known each other forever.

I also got to meet her boys and let me just tell you this... They were impressive young men; very well mannered and quiet......her house was so quiet compared to mine, it was hard to believe there were children present.

Towards the end of my visit Bo Shannon came in to check on us. We had gotten quiet and he wanted to make sure we hadn't fallen asleep run out of things to talk about. No worries there...it isn't often that I am without things to say.

Bloggers Beware: During our time together we put together some master stalking plans - two stalkers minds are better than one - and we may arrive on a doorstep near you. **rubs hands together with a wicked evil grin** HA-HA-HA!!

The Bloggy Blues

Maybe it's the heat of summer time, stifling my creativity, or maybe it's because Babe is home and blocking my mo-jo. It could be because I'm so busy at work. I'm not really sure what's causing it - the material is still there - but I seem to be having a bit of bloggers block.

I was telling someone today that I haven't posted in over a week. It's not that I don't want to post. It's not that great and funny things haven't been happening daily.

I've got lots of stories that I need to catch up on....My 10 Year Service Anniversary Party, Good Mail, Special Friends, Crazy Kids, Movies Mom and I have gone to see, etc.

It's the stories....they aren't forming in my head.

Maybe my funny bone is bruised. I don't know what is going on, but I'm hoping it's only temporary - A bloggy vacation, if you will.

Even writing this post isn't flowing well. I've thought about deleting it several times but then I thought I would go ahead and write it; let you all know what's been going on with me or NOT, as the case may be.

As you can imagine, this bloggy block has cause me to have the bloggy blues and one evening, I was "stalking" to a bloggy friend when my daughter walked in with the mail....and guess what I got??

Yep, I got Good Mail - Thanks Debbie! You have no idea how timely the arrival of this package was...it put a much needed smile on my face and lifted my spirits.
